Henning is fighting for his life. Philip tells Helen that he was in the sand quarry too. She fears that Henning's accident may have been an attempt on his life, in which case there is a leak somewhere. She mentions this to Ron, and he realizes that there is another witness. Ron eases information out of Camilla and finds out who the other witness is.

With the pistol and Henning's statement Helen has had a breakthrough in the case. She has the pistol, and she has an eyewitness. But she doesn't know that Philip was in the sand quarry too. Helen fears for Henning's safety and goes straight to Ron with a request for witness protection for him.

Ron goes to Mysen to be updated on the murder investigation. Zana's photo is hanging on the investigation board, but Helen removes it, explaining that the Zana lead turned out to be a suicide and that she has been eliminated from the case. Philip senses that Helen thinks he's lying and asks to be moved to a new foster home.

A full-scale gang war is about to break out in Oslo. There is an attempt on the life of the member of an MC gang outside a primary school, and a young girl is shot dead. Henning is increasingly haunted by anxiety and insomnia. Philip breaks his silence and tells Helen everything, apart from the fact that he was also a witness to the murders.

An explosion at Hamid's restaurant strengthens Helen's theory that his daughter Zana has something to do with the murders. If this was retaliation for something, the stage is set for a gang war in Oslo. Zana is on the run and travels to Copenhagen. She gets in touch with the killer from the sand quarry on a chat site, and it transpires that she was with him on the night of the murders.

Young Philip and Henning are in a workers barracks in a remote sand quarry in Mysen. They are about to explore the attraction they feel for each other, when a car suddenly pulls up outside. Four men are murdered in front of their eyes. The killer discovers them inside the barracks, but the boys manage to escape, with the murder weapon.
